My Books

I have written or co-edited four books, with a fifth soon to be announced.

Beyond Monologue (invisible castle, 2023)

My most recent book is Beyond Monologue: Preparing Interactive Talks, which reimagines how we engage people with Jesus through public events.

It’s been called ‘a gem of a book’ by Tim Adams, the General Secretary of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES).

Dave Benson, of London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC), says it ‘leads the way’ on interactive speaking.

Healthy Faith (Inter-Varsity Press, 2020)

My previous book was Healthy Faith and the Coronavirus Crisis, from Inter-Varsity Press UK, which I co-edited with Kristi Mair. Contributors include Krish Kandiah, Rachel Turner, John Wyatt, Kate Wharton, Mark Meynell, and Tom Wright.

Healthy Faith was the first full-length Christian response to the pandemic, being published within the initial few weeks of the first lockdown.

Each contributor writes on their area of expertise, and topics covered include prayer, loneliness, work, singleness, marriage, parenting, grief, death, imagination, conversations, humour, and much more. They offer practical advice as well as helpful perspective from Scripture.

Campus Lights (Muddy Pearl, 2019)

My second book, Campus Lights: Students Living and Speaking for Jesus Around the World (Muddy Pearl, 2019), is the literary equivalent of a TED Talk on global Christian student movements.

I travelled the world and interviewed over one hundred people involved in local work, in order to bring together this collection of stories and reflections.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship President Tom Lin describes Campus Lights as ‘an eye-opening look at campus ministries around the globe – full of stories designed to inspire you, challenge you, and equip you, as you engage universities in your own contexts.

The Myth of the Non-Christian (InterVarsity Press, 2016)

My first book, The Myth of the Non-Christian: Engaging Atheists, Nominal Christians and the Spiritual But Not Religious was published by InterVarsity Press (USA) in 2016.

Leonard Sweet calls it ‘the new go-to book for contextual apologetics’, while Alan Hirsch describes it as ‘a top-class book’ which will help readers ‘rethink evangelism in light of the increasingly missionary situation of the church in our time’.
